MULTIPLE PACKS
Dispensing multiple packs or multiple repeats of prescription medication
- As pharmacists we must always comply explicitly with your doctors prescribed directions this includes the quantity of the prescription goods to be supplied. Therefore the only time we can supply an increased quantity of a prescribed medicine is if the doctor prescribes that quantity for you.
AUTHORITY PRESCRIPTION
- Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS.
Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health.
Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number).
Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication.
But still pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has the necessary Authority code.

Who is Pyrenel Foam for?
Pyrenel Foam is recommended for use on children aged 6 months and up. Parents supervision is essential.
When should I use Pyrenel Foam?
Pyrenel Foam should be applied at the first sign of a head lice infestation. Why not stock up at the start of summer so you are prepared for lice season?

Warnings
Pyrenel Foam must not be swallowed. If Pyrenel Foam gets in the eyes, flush them with clean warm water. If skin irritation or signs of infection occurs, consult your physician. Do not use in pregnancy or on babies under 6 months unless advised by a doctor. Contains 5-bromo-5-nitro-1,3 dioxane and benzoates as preservatives. Contains sulfites. Do not use regularly or to prevent head lice. Store below 30°C.

Directions
Wet the hair thoroughly with warm water. Squeeze excess water from the hair. Apply 10-15mL of Pyrenel Foam to the head and massage into a rich lather ensuring that it comes into contact with all lice and eggs.
Leave on the hair for 10 minutes then rinse well. Remove the dead lice and eggs with a fine tooth comb.
All members of the family should be treated to prevent reinfestation. Once application is normally sufficient to remove lice and their eggs.
For maximum protection use Pyrenel Foam once a week until the outbreak at school is checked. Wash all clothing bed clothes, towels, combs and brushes in hot water. Pyrenel Foam must not be swallowed.
If Pyrenel Foam gets in the eyes, flush them with clean warm water. If skin irritation or signs of infection occurs, consult your physician.

Have used all nit products on the market for years dealing with daycare and school nits back and forth between siblings. Discovered this and it’s the best nit kill on the market! Highly recommend and will only be using this product moving forward. Finally a product that kills them effectively and fast!
