MULTIPLE PACKS
Dispensing multiple packs or multiple repeats of prescription medication
- As pharmacists we must always comply explicitly with your doctors prescribed directions this includes the quantity of the prescription goods to be supplied. Therefore the only time we can supply an increased quantity of a prescribed medicine is if the doctor prescribes that quantity for you.
AUTHORITY PRESCRIPTION
- Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS.
Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health.
Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number).
Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication.
But still pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has the necessary Authority code.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Vaseline Intensive Care aloe soothe is an amazing all over body lotion which absorbs instantly into the skin and gives out a gentle, almost floral, fresh aloe scent. I was amazed at how well the lotion absorbed into the skin, and did not leave any kind of sticky residue. I felt my skin texture improve and become silky smooth, felt an all over freshness which lasted throughout the day. Someone commented on how nice I smelt and asked if I had changed perfumes, I don't wear perfume! I am entering 40 years of age, and have recently become obsessed with anti aging products for my face, all the while neglecting my body. What I did notice, is that this product contains lactic acid, which is proven to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots, while smoothing the toning the skin, so a key winner there! And also sunflower seed oil which actually repairs the skin barrier! We all know the benefits for aloe when it comes to moisture and bacteria too. Clear winner for me!

Fabulous ACTUALLY non greasy lotion!

What I love about this lotion though is that it really does live up to its promise of hydrating for 48 hours. My 50-year-old skin is usually dry and flaky, but this made a huge difference immediately. During the first week of use, I forgot to apply it one day, and my skin was still soft and hydrated the next day. Also, as an unexpected bonus from using this product, my self-tan lasted a week longer than usual.
